The summer before last, my childhood BFF was in town for the weekend. He and I took an impromptu road trip with the sole purpose of riding the Giant Dipper and then getting immediately back in the car. An hour and a half, each way. We took the long way. Highway 1 forever.
Him: You know what I miss about living here?
Me: Overpopulation? Traffic on 101? How the seasons never change?
Him: No, going to Santa Cruz on the weekend and riding the Giant Dipper.
Me: Dude, get in the car. We’ll be back before dinner.
