Recently a significant amount of people in Mainz and the surrounding suburbs of Frankfurt have been complaining protesting Fluglärm/noise pollution due to airplanes landing at Frankfurt Airport. I find the fact that it bothers them so hugely to be absolutely adorable, either because I grew up in the middle of a triangle of heavily trafficked airports (SFO-OAK-SJC) and am used to it or possibly because I just have no soul.
Most of the whining protesting takes the form of signs and placards of varying degrees of melodrama placed in people’s windows. My absolute favourite this far read: “Es ist wie ein Krieg nur ohne Bombe!”/”It’s like a war, only without bombs!”

On a scale of “mildly” to “I hope the victims rise up en masse and haunt you fuckwads until the end of days”, how offensive is this to those who lived through or died during the various aerial strikes of WWII?
